We have been riveted by the recent news in Afghanistan. The Refugee and Immigration Concerns Team of Claremont Presbyterian Church has partnered with local nonprofit Newcomers Access Center (NAC) with a wonderful opportunity to meet a family from Kabul and learn about their delicious food. In a Zoom class, Mrs. Parwani will prepare a traditional family recipe of “Bolani,” a flatbread with potato filling and a special dipping sauce. We will send the recipe to you ahead of time in case you feel adventurous and want to cook along! Join us on Sunday, October 10, at 3 PM. Allow an hour for preparation and baking and up to 30 minutes for any questions. Suggested donation of $20.
Your donations will help purchase mattresses for incoming new arrivals resettling in Claremont. Each mattress costs $150. Claremont Presbyterian Church will match all donations! Mattresses will be distributed by NAC to families that will be arriving soon from Afghanistan.
