A Celtic Christmas at Claremont Presbyterian Church
On Saturday, December 14 at 6:00 PM, Claremont Presbyterian is bringing a little English, Irish, and Welsh culture into the sanctuary with music and an endearing dramatic reading of A Child’s Christmas in Wales written by Dylan Thomas.
This delightful compilation of art forms offers a truly unique theatrical experience for the whole family transcending generational divides to reveal the spirit of joy of the season that speaks to everyone.
Performed by professional entertainers with years of credits in theatre, film, radio, and television, the Celtic Christmas show is brought to life with extraordinary talent. The ensemble, Tin Box Theatricals, includes Claremonter Danny Oberbeck along with son and daughter and CHS grads Dylan and Chloe Oberbeck and his mother Marnie Bell and step father Gary Bell and a cast of other professional actors and musicians. Selections range from upbeat Irish tunes and soft Welsh ballads to dramatic readings that stir the soul and poetic ditties that bring a smile to your face.
The performance includes an unforgettable dramatic reading of A Child’s Christmas in Wales in which the childhood memories of author, Dylan Thomas, are brought to life by an amazing and talented ensemble as they re-create a tumultuous Christmas day spent with mom, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, and best friends.
This casual, yet carefully orchestrated two hour performance and intermission will send you home with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
A free will offering will be taken at intermission and after the program.
