On Friday and Saturday, April 26-27 a group will visit Calexico (U.S.) and Mexicali (Mexico) to learn how we can be supportive neighbors. The group will depart Claremont at 8 AM on Friday and return by 8 PM on Saturday. We will visit with workers assisting asylum seekers in Calexico and we will visit a shelter in Mexicali, hosting primarily women and children who have fled their homes. We will participate in an art project at the shelter and listen to the stories of migrants and others seeking safe and secure homes. The Cost is $135 and scholarships are available. The visit is sponsored by: Justice for Immigrants Seeking Asylum (JISA) Interested? Questions? Contact the church office.
