Take a few days to slow down, listen inwardly, and savor quiet during CPC’s contemplative Advent retreat December 11-13 at Saint Andrew’s Abbey in Valyermo. We’ll join the rhythms of the monastery, experience Benedictine spirituality, and savor winter in the high desert from 3 PM Monday through lunch Wednesday.

Duane Bidwell will facilitate our time, which will focus on contemplative practice and the fundamentals of Benedictine spirituality. There will be plenty of time to rest, walk, and participate in community worship if you’d like. (The monks pray together five times a day, chanting the psalms, reading scripture, and sitting in silence.)

Rooms are simple but comfortable, with a bed, a nightstand, a desk, a rocking chair, a private bath, and a private patio.
