Faithful Civic Engagement: A Conversation with David Menefee-Libey
The Adult Ed Commission is excited to welcome back Professor David J. Menefee-Libey the William A. Johnson Professor of Government at Pomona College for two Adult Ed sessions at CPC. His political science expertise and research on the education policy in the United States has been a rich source of insight for CPC in the past and we are grateful he has agreed to return. Both Adult Ed sessions with David are strategically scheduled around election day so our community can be educated going into the voting process and coming out of it. While there will be no endorsement of any candidate, we hope it will encourage our church community to stay informed and to exercise they civic responsibility of voting. The purpose of these talks is not to tell anyone how to vote, instead it’s to make sure our community is as educated as possible about the political landscape.
David is the William A. Johnson Professor of Government; Professor of Politics; Coordinator of Public Policy Analysis. He has been at Pomona College since 1989. This is something that CPC has done in the past during an election year. David has been invited before election day and after election day, and both times it was really popular.
Please arrive early because we anticipate a full house in Room 1 and be prepared with questions for the Q&A.
