Our Mission
To provide quality childcare and age appropriate education for each child, regardless of race, creed or religion, in a loving Christian environment.

Our Philosophy
We believe that each child is a unique individual, with developmental needs and interests of their own. Therefore, we design our programs so that children learn at their own pace, in an environment of play.

Our Goals
• To develop a positive self-esteem
• To provide an environment that is safe and healthy.
• To help children become curious, imaginative and creative.
• To help children learn to communicate ideas and feelings.
• To help children appreciate nature, and develop a sense of wonder.
• To help children get along with, and respect others.
• To help children develop and become well coordinated.
• To help children learn from and respect the cultural, religious and ethnic differences within community.
• To help children be enthusiastic, active learners, and most of all to have FUN.

A Word about Early Childhood Education
Digging in the sand, painting a colorful mess, pounding nails, working puzzles, dressing up, finger painting – all just look like play. To the child it is his/her work! Each activity develops large and small muscles, identifies colors, develops hand-eye coordination, and allows emotional release. Just as a house stands on a secure foundation that can’t be seen, the child needs these kinds of experiences as a foundation for later academic skills and life.

To that end, we have three separate playgrounds for infant, toddler and preschool age groups. They all have age appropriate equipment, playhouses and toys. We recently renovated our Pre-school playground to add a large grassy area for free play, a new concrete pad for the tricycles, chalk drawings, and to keep things clean when we engage in water activities.

Our Parents
We encourage communication from all of our parents, so that families may work toward the common goals for each child. Parent/Teacher conferences are held once a year for preschool children, following evaluations. Infants and toddlers receive evaluations quarterly.

Our Staff
Our teachers are selected for their educational background, experience and sensitivity. They are thoroughly screened, with background, health and fingerprint clearances. They are encouraged to further their education through additional college courses, professional workshops and conferences.

Governing Body
The Children’s Center Commission is made up of Church members, current Children’s Center parents, Church and Children’s Center staff. The Commission meets monthly to discuss and implement the on-going business of the Center. A “Parent Forum” is available each month during the first half-hour.

General Information
Claremont Presbyterian Children’s Center is a non-profit mission organization within Claremont Presbyterian Church. The Pastor is Karen Sapio and the Associate Pastor is Rocky Supinger. For more information concerning church activities you may call the church office (909) 624-9693.

Health
We work very hard to protect the wellness of the children in our care. All children are required to be up to date on their immunizations, and given a health clearance from their physician before enrolling. Regular routines of disinfecting toys and surfaces are one of the ways wellness is accomplished. If your child becomes ill while at the Center, we will notify you immediately and provide special care until you arrive.

Nutrition
Nutritious morning and afternoon snacks are provided by the Center for the toddlers and the preschool children. Snack menus are available for your information on the Parent Information Bulletin Boards.
