About our Performing Arts Series
The CPC Performing Arts Series is a free community offering. Most of our performances take place in our sanctuary. A reception follows each performance to give the audience an opportunity to meet the artists.

The purpose of this series is to encourage people who would not otherwise seek a church home to come to CPC to enjoy excellent performances and to learn more about our church. This series is a community offering and an outreach program

February 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Concert for Orchestra and Organ

The Presbyterian Performing Arts Committee is pleased to announce that on February 6, 2010 at 7:30 pm., the Pasadena Community Orchestra under the leadership of Alan Reinecke, Musical Director, will be appearing at Claremont Presbyterian Church with Tabitha Henken, Organist, for an evening of Organ and Orchestral Music. The program will range from the Baroque to Neo Classical.

In October 2009, Ms. Henken performed at First Congregational Church on the World’s largest Church Pipe Organ. Mr. Reinecke is in his second season as Musical Director and Conductor of the Pasadena Community Orchestra. This is a must see concert to hear our glorious pipe organ in an orchestral setting. The Performing Arts Committee is soliciting donations which can be listed in the program to help offset this community wide event.

Bring your music lover friends and neighbors. There will be a free will offering during an interlude of the concert. Don’t miss the splendor of the evening’s music making.

Seeking Committee Members

We hope that you have enjoyed the CPC Performing Arts Series which has brought music, drama and dance performances to CPC and the community. The committee (PPAC) that organizes these performances is looking for new members from CPC and the community who will share their ideas and help continue to bring exciting entertainers to the Performing Arts Series.

PPAC is under the auspices of the CPC Evangelism and Nurture Commission. The committee meets quarterly beginning in September and ending in May. It is led by a moderator who also publishes the meeting minutes. Other positions include treasurer, booking coordinator, performance coordinator and reception coordinator. The committee’s responsibilities include: seeking, observing and evaluating entertainers, selecting each season’s performers and recommending them for approval, booking the performers, marketing and coordinating the performances and arranging receptions.

If you would like to be part of the committee that makes the Performing Arts Series a reality, please contact Karen Sapio at karensapio@claremontpres.org We hope to hear from you soon!
